Whilst the school is closed, our duty and responsibility to safeguarding our pupils remains. Throughout this period, we will continue  to check in on your child just as if the school was open.

A member of school staff will call to check-in with you each week, and to speak to your child. If you have any safeguarding concerns whilst the school is closed, for your child or for any other pupil from the school, please contact the school office (01543 548700) in the first instance or in an emergency Jane Elliker, Designated Safeguarding Lead jane@rocklands.staffs.sch.uk

If you need to contact the school nurse, please email Specialschools.staffs@nhs.net

This inbox will be monitored each day and emails forwarded to the appropriate person.

Rocklands School is a supportive community where parents and carers, school staff, governors and wider professionals all work together in the best interests of your children. I know we all share together the wish that all of us remain safe though out this difficult period of time.

NSPCC Speak out Stay safe assemblies have taken place in more than 90% of all primary schools across the UK and Channel Islands, giving children the knowledge they need to stay safe from harm and to speak out if they're worried. While we aren't able to run the assemblies as normal right now, Friday June 5, we'll be hosting our very own virtual Speak out Stay safe assembly alongside some special guests.

Ant and Dec, David Walliams and the Minister for Children and Families, Vicky Ford MP, from the Department for Education, will be joining us to help make the assembly a success. The DfE will also promote the assembly beforehand to ensure we reach as many people as possible.

The content of the assembly will be aimed at children aged 7-11 years old (KS2) and will focus on anxiety, including the worries that children are facing right now, why they may feel anxious or worried and ways they can be supported, for example reaching out to a trusted adult or calling Childline.

The assembly will be shared on the NSPCC Facebook page our Facebook page on Friday 5 June from 9:30am so make sure you tune in and spread the word about it among friends, family or any teachers that you know.  We will be promoting across NSPCC socials through the week, our first posts went live yesterday evening on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Still here for children

Sadly, home isn't a safe place for every child. We need your support to make sure we can still be here for children at risk of abuse.
