Rocklands School was established in 1971 to offer provision for pupils with severe learning difficulties from 2-19 years.

Following reorganisation in September 2006, the school became a generic primary special school, offering provision for children with a wide range of special educational needs, including those with autistic spectrum disorder and profound and multiple learning difficulties.In November 2009 we relocated sites to a renovated building on Purcell Avenue with Charnwood Primary School, Gateway Nursery, Charnwood Children's centre and sharing the campus with our neighbours Lichfield SPLD centre.
